Divine Feminine - Your Menstrual Cylce & The Moon Cycle

Divine Feminine - Your Menstrual Cycle & The Moon

Understanding your menstrual cycle and the phases of the moon can bring new insights into how your body works. The menstrual cycle typically spans about 28 days, closely mirroring the lunar cycle. Just as the moon takes 28 days to orbit the Earth, our bodies follow a natural rhythm. By tracking your cycle and the phases of the moon, you can gain deeper insights into your energy levels, mood, and overall well-being.

Why Compare Your Cycle with the Moon? In astrology, the moon is associated with water (emotions), and our body consist about 80% water. The moon affects how we react, deeply influencing our emotional levels. Ever heard someone say they have difficulty sleeping during the new moon or that people act strangely during the full moon? It’s because, during the full moon, light illuminates and brings things to the surface. In ancient times, the moon was considered the feminine side, the nurturing mother. It was believed that females are ruled by the moon and males by the sun (which represents the ego in many occult teachings).

The moon has long been associated with cycles and rhythms, impacting not only the tides but also our bodies and minds. By comparing your menstrual cycle with the moon phases, you can gain valuable insights into your emotional and physical states. This understanding helps you know when to embrace high energy, when to retreat, nurture yourself and when it´s time to let go and to manifest.

Here's a breakdown of the four weeks of the menstrual cycle and how they align with the moon's phases:

Week 1 - White Moon Cycle: Start of Menstruation (4-7 days) This is when your period begins. It's a time to embrace relaxation, gentle exercise, and self-care rituals that honor your femininity and body. The New Moon often coincides with this week, symbolizing new beginnings and reflection. The Night on a New Moon is completely dark. It represents the cycle of life – life, death & rebirth. If your cycle aligns with the New Moon, it may indicate a phase of a huge transformation, renewal and inward focus. You bleed on the new moon & ovulate at the full moon. You´re very nurturing and fertile. You are ready to birth children or create something great.

Week 2 - Pink Moon Cycle: Pre-Ovulation In this phase, estrogen levels start to rise. This is generally considered a less fertile time, but as you approach the end of the week, fertility increases. You'll likely feel energized and balanced as your hormones stabilize. This is also the week when the First Quarter Moon typically occurs, representing growth and increased energy. You are ready for yourself expansion.

Week 3 - Red Cycle: Ovulation During ovulation, progesterone levels increase, and your energy reaches a peak. This is a fertile period, a time for creation, whether it's conceiving ideas, projects, or even a child. The Full Moon often aligns with this week, signifying fullness, clarity, and a time when your intentions may come to fruition. If your cycle aligns with the Full Moon, it could indicate a period of heightened energy and creativity. If you bleed on a full moon, you're known as a Red Witch, a powerful manifester. In ancient times, women like you were called high priestesses and healers, often associated with the Red Cycle.

Week 4 - Purple Moon Cycle: Pre-Menstruation As you approach the start of your next period, your body may shift toward a quieter state. Some women feel energized, while others may experience lower energy levels and mood swings. This is a less fertile week and an opportunity to prepare for the coming menstruation. This phase aligns with the Last Quarter Moon, a time for reflection, release, and letting go of what no longer serves you.
